- What is the finwire MCP server?
- A server in the Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard that gives assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code 53 tools with Polish financial data, calculations and legal facts. Address: https://public-api.finwire.pl/mcp.
2
- Is it free and do I need an API key?
- It is free and needs no key or account. The server is read-only and uses the same data as the finwire.pl public API.
3
- Which assistants does it work with?
- Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP, including Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude Code), ChatGPT with developer-mode connectors, Cursor and VS Code.
4
- Where does the data come from and how current is it?
- From primary sources: Statistics Poland, the National Bank of Poland, the Financial Supervision Authority, the Ministry of Finance, the Journal of Laws and notarial deeds. Every result gives the period of the figure.
5
- Can I rely on the answers?
- The tools return figures with the period, the source and a link; legal facts carry the act, article and verification date. The assistant writes the final answer, so check the linked page for decisions. It is information, not investment, tax or legal advice.
6
- Is there a REST API too?
- Yes. The same data is available at public-api.finwire.pl with OpenAPI documentation; see the finwire open API page.
